setessential (baseid) 1/0
1 existence essential and 0 being not

In your Skyrim.ini file, put

[GAMEPLAY]
bEssentialTakeNoDamage=0

at the bottom to make all NPCs nonessential.

That's a expert tip, just I don't want to brand all the NPCs nonessential. I but wanted to know how to gear up certain private NPCs as nonessential. Thank you anyway.

What goes into the [baseid] spot. I've tried clicking an npc and copying the 8 digit hexidecimal number, but that didn't work

There are some NPCs that can't be fix non-essential this way. The only way to do it is to edit them in Creation Kit. Believe me, I've tried to impale Serana, but the game won't let me no affair how high my console-fu is.

What about making all animals none-essential >< i got a really bad glitch some animals are spawning in as essential making them unkillable.

Brinjolf is the same way. Idk about Serana, simply I think his issue is because he'south set as both essential and invulnerable, takes no harm whatsoever. As I most commonly employ this command to cleanse Riften of the thieves gild, I tin say it works for the Blackbriars, Maul, Mercer, etc.

For Brinjolf, what I do is the same setessential 0 control, only followed past targeting him within console, and using

damageav wellness 5000

To exist honest, I'thou very new to console commands, and am experiencing a glitch in the Whispering Door, where I can't kill either Balgruuf or Farengar, I tin't pickpocket either of them either. I'm trying to make Balgruuf not-essential, and can't seem to get it to work. I hate to inquire this, but could somebody Delight blazon out the code to brand him non-essential?
