What is a board?

A board displays issues from one or more projects in columns that correspond the team's process. They provide the squad with a shared view of all piece of work that hasn't started, piece of work that is in progress, and work that is completed.

Step 1: Create a lath

To create a new board:

Click Search ()> View all boards.
ClickCreate board.
Select a board type (either scrum, or kanban).
Select how you desire your board created - You tin can either start with a new project template for your new board, or add your lath to one or more existing projects.

Which board type should I cull?

The 2 board types are:

Scrum boards	Manage stories, tasks, and, and bugs in sprints Suits teams that deliver work on a regular schedule
Kanban boards	Manage stories, tasks, and bugs in acontinuous period Suits teams who command work volume from a backlog

If your team has a strong agreement of agile, we recommend picking Scrum or Kanban (whichever suits your team's process). If your team is new to agile, or you want to spring in without spending much fourth dimension on configuration, nosotros recommend starting with team-managed projection templates.

What settings should I configure first?

We recommend configuring columns and quick filters first. Configuring columns is useful, because you can make your board reflect your team's process. For Scrum/Kanban boards, we likewise recommend setting up Quick Filters, so that team members can focus on the problems they demand to, quickly. For case, you might configure Quick Filters that only show issues for specific releases.

Configuring boards within team-managed projection templates is super like shooting fish in a barrel - the basic stuff like adding/removing columns, calculation WIP limits, and renaming is all done on the board itself, instead having to modify screens. To enable or plow off agile features like Excess, Sprints, Reports become to Settings > Features.

You can proceed your board up to date without lifting a finger using Jira automation, available for all Jira Software Cloud customers. See some common automation templates in the Jira automation template library below.

Move upshot to 'done' when PR is merged. Go to rule.
Transport daily bulletin with issues in the backlog. Go to dominion.
Shut the parent issue when all sub-tasks are 'washed'. Go to dominion.
